🇬🇧 Overview in English (EERTIS / European Research Infrastructure)
The Winemaking Technologies Section is a structural unit of the Public Institution INCAAMV, established on January 1, 2025, following the reorganization of the Institute. It was created through the merger of two long-standing scientific entities: the “Modern Technologies, Standardization and Expertise in Winemaking” Laboratory and the “Biotechnologies and Microbiology of Alcoholic Products” Laboratory. The Section is located in Chișinău municipality, Codru town, at 59 Vierul Street. From an administrative perspective, the Section is part of the Department of Food Industry and Winemaking (DIAV). The main objective of the Section is to carry out scientific research and technological development activities in the vitivinicultural field. Through an innovative approach, the Section develops modern technologies for grape processing and the production of wines and alcoholic beverages, thereby contributing to enhancing the quality and competitiveness of local vitivinicultural products. At the same time, it aims to implement advanced solutions to support the sustainable development of the sector. The Section’s main areas of activity include: research-development-implementation, the provision of scientific and technical services, and the training of specialists in oenology and related biotechnologies. As part of its research activities, the Section conducts in-depth studies on the physico-chemical and microbiological composition of wines, develops distillation and aging technologies for distillates, implements processes for the production of sparkling wines, and carries out evaluations on the use of adjuvants and auxiliary materials in technological processes. In addition, the Section contributes to the harmonization of the regulatory framework in the vitivinicultural sector by developing and revising national standards, technical specifications, instructions, and technological regulations in line with European and international practices. Another key component of its work is the provision of technological consulting to producers in the field, along with support in the implementation of new technologies. With regard to professional training, the Section provides conditions for student and master's internships, supports doctoral research projects, and actively contributes to the training of highly qualified scientific personnel in oenology. Through its activity, the Winemaking Technologies Section supports the scientific and technological advancement of the national vitivinicultural sector, while building a strong link between research, industry, and education.
