Breeding of fruit crops and grapevine &#8211; one of the essential factors of the modernization of fruit growing and viticulture, aiming to ensure the stability and sustainability of the branch, the upward and effective growth of production, improving quality, obtaining ecological products.\n\nThe activity includes:\n&#8211;\tCreation of new varieties of fruit crops and grapevine with diverse uses;\n&#8211;\tEvaluation of agrobiological and technological characteristics of autochthonous and introduced grapevine varieties, fruit species and fruit shrub species;\n&#8211;\tDevelopment, promotion and implementation of new varieties, inclusive with increased or advanced genetic resistance to unfavorable biotic and abiotic environmental factors;\n&#8211;\tHighlighting, studying, selecting and implementing valuable clones in the viticultural assortment;\n&#8211;\tTesting of new created varieties in various agroclimatic conditions;\n&#8211;\tMicro-propagation of new grapevine varieties and fruit species.\n\n2. Evaluation and documentation of genetic resources of horticultural species, accumulated in the genetic resource fund (Genofond) of grapevine, of fruit species and baciferous &#8211; the basis for the preservation, conservation and valorization of the genetic agrodiversity of horticultural species varieties in the Republic of Moldova.\n\nThe Grapevine Gene Fund  includes:\n\u2022 Ampelographic collection &#8211; 1200 genotypes \u2013 varieties and elites of divers origin;\n\u2022 Hybrids field (descendants);\n\u2022 Comparison and selection field.\n\nThe Fruit Crops Gene Fund includes: \nCollection of fruit species &#8211; 12 species, represented by about 2034 varieties;\n&#8211; Hybrid field\n&#8211; Selection and microculture orchard\n&#8211; Collection of fruit shrubs and
